Born in Nibelheim, Tifa knew Cloud Strife since childhood and, following the destruction of her town, became a member of AVALANCHE to fight against the Shinra Electric Power Company.

An independent and strong-willed young woman with a motherly streak, Tifa is quick to hide her true feelings due to her shyness. She owns and runs a bar and restaurant called 7th Heaven, located in Sector 7 slums of Midgar, which also serves as an AVALANCHE hideout.
